RunThrough & ASICS approached Highful Minds wanting a Special Medal Designed for the LONDONTEN, a race all about celebrating Diversity In Running. Frankie a huge runner himself was absolutely honored to have been given the opportunity to design this. Blending his world of design and running together. This was a day that he'll never forget.
The Medal
The run is all about celebrating Diversity in Running. Making running accessible to all Genders, Ethnicities and Social Classes. It was a run to bring all of London Together.
It's very difficult to try and portray such a complex and wide thing as diversity into a single graphic without it being too literal.
So I opted to take the map of london and create a modular version of it, split all the burroughs and colour them in in ASICS brand colours. This array of colour portrays diversity.
Now that I had the graphic down, I created a custom "LondonTen" type. Taking two of the burroughs from the map and replacing the "O's" in London to unify the type and the Graphic.
I created a custom medal housing to fit in the graphic, the type and the surrounding assets such as the tagline, logos, location and date. Resulting in a completely bespoke medal for this fantastic race.
